On May 20, 2025, YRCTU hosted the second expert review meeting for the higher vocational college section of the 2024 Report on Higher Education Internationalization in Henan. The meeting was held in Conference Room 1 of the Administration Building. Key attendees included Director Chen Sikun and Deputy Director Ma Qianghe from the Henan Research Center for Education Internationalization, along with experts from the center’s editorial team. YRCTU Vice President Jian Haoran was also in attendance.

Jian Haoran extended a sincere welcome to the visiting leaders and experts, briefly introducing the university’s profile and its achievements in internationalization. He noted that the gathering was not only an in-depth workshop on the annual report but also a comprehensive review of the university’s internationalization efforts and a powerful source of encouragement. He invited the experts to offer their invaluable insights and suggestions to help the university achieve new breakthroughs in its global outreach.

Chen Sikun expressed his sincere thanks for the university’s warm hospitality and highly commended YRCTU for its impressive results in internationalization. He emphasized that advancing the internationalization of education is a key national strategy. “Compiling this annual report is a task of great significance,” he stated. “It enables institutions to identify and address their shortcomings through self-reflection and analysis, and it charts a path forward, providing a foundational framework for advancing high-level education internationalization in the province.”

Ma Qianghe briefed the attendees on the progress of the report’s higher vocational college section, covering information gathering, data analysis, and drafting. He attributed the report’s broad participation and extensive coverage this year to the strong support from the Education Department of Henan Province and the high value placed on the work by participating institutions. Subsequently, the attendees categorized and analyzed issues found in the submitted data and developed strategic recommendations for the report’s compilation based on practical considerations.

The annual report on the internationalization of higher education in Henan was initiated in 2021 by the Education Department of Henan Province. The report provides a comprehensive and systematic overview of the current status, achievements, and challenges of higher education internationalization in the province. It covers key areas such as internationalization support systems, Sino-foreign cooperative programs, and international mobility for faculty and students, serving as a vital resource that reflects the complete picture of this sector.

This expert review meeting has further clarified the direction and priorities for the 2024 Report, playing a crucial role in enhancing its quality and ensuring its scientific rigor and authority.
