On June 5 (local time), a YRCTU delegation led by Yang Shiheng, Deputy Party Secretary and Chairman of the Labor Union, visited the Americas Branch of Yellow River Co., Ltd. as part of an alumni outreach initiative.

Meeting with alumni representatives

During the meeting, Yang Shiheng briefed the alumni on the university’s recent achievements, highlighting the innovative practices of its overseas Dayu Schools in international talent development and cooperative projects. He gained insight into the business strategy and development plans of the Americas Branch and inquired in detail about the company’s specific needs for locally trained skilled talent for its projects. Yang also conveyed the university’s deep appreciation for its overseas alumni and expressed high hopes for their future success in the international engineering sector. He encouraged them to continue to uphold the spirit of their alma mater and represent the excellence of Chinese construction professionals on the global stage.

On behalf of the alumni in the Americas, Zhang Qiang warmly welcomed the delegation and provided a detailed overview of the branch’s business operations. He noted that with the growing number of infrastructure projects in South America, the company faces a significant talent gap, particularly in surveying technology and construction safety. He expressed a strong desire to collaborate with the university on joint training programs for local talent and extended a sincere invitation for YRCTU faculty and students to participate in project-based research and development, fostering a deeper integration of industry and education.

In closing, Yang Shiheng invited the alumni to return to campus to share their overseas career experiences and contribute to the university’s internationalization goals. Zhang Qiang thanked his alma mater for the education he received and affirmed his commitment to advancing university-enterprise cooperation in joint talent cultivation and research, in mutual support of the Belt and Road Initiative.
