From December 9 to 15, Vice President Zhou Zhiqi led a delegation of four people, including heads and relevant personnel from the Liaison and Cooperation Department, School of Civil Engineering and Transportation Engineering, and School of Information Engineering, to visit universities and Chinese-funded enterprises in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan to advance educational cooperation.
In Kazakhstan, Zhou and the delegation visited the International Engineering and Technological University and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. Zhou held meetings with President Sarsenbekova of the International Engineering and Technological University and Vice President Duysenov of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. He introduced the history, achievements, and past international cooperation of YRCTI and hoped to strengthen cooperation in information engineering, architectural engineering, and water engineering to promote knowledge sharing and cultural exchange and contribute to the economic and social development of both countries. Sarsenbekova and Duysenov warmly welcomed Zhou and the delegation respectively. They also introduced the situations of their respective universities and both looked forward to jointly building a new platform for educational cooperation in Central Asia to further deepen exchanges and interactions in relevant fields with YRCTI. Zhou and the delegation then observed the experimental and practical teaching modes at the two universities.

In Uzbekistan, Zhou and the delegation visited the Namangan Institute of Engineering and Technology, Namangan Engineering Construction Institute, and KIMYO International University in Tashkent. Zhou held in-depth discussions on the joint establishment of the “Dahe Workshop” and the implementation of the “Chinese + Vocational Skills” training, faculty and student exchanges, as well as the studying program in China for students with Vice President Mahkamov of the Namangan Institute of Engineering and Technology, President Shariyboboy of Namangan Engineering Construction Institute, and Vice President Rod of KIMYO International University in Tashkent. After that, Zhou and the delegation toured their research laboratories and teaching facilities and reached a consensus with them respectively on the joint construction of the “Dahe Workshop” and the faculty and student study tours in 2025.

Zhou was visiting KIMYO International University in Tashkent.
At China Energy International Group Central Asia Co., Ltd., Zhou and the delegation held in-depth discussions with Zang Haifei, the General Manager of the Group’s Central Asia Representative Office, and Wang Fei, the Deputy General Manager of China Energy International Group Central Asia Co., Ltd., regarding the establishment of the “Chinese Language Workshop” and the implementation of “Chinese + Vocational Skills” training for foreign employees. Zhou Zhiqi stated that YRCTI has already made fruitful explorations in overseas operations and the “Chinese Language Workshop” is of great significance for YRCTI to better assist Chinese-funded enterprises in “going global”. Zang Haifei expressed the hope to, by fully leveraging respective resource advantages, establish an in-depth exchange and cooperation mechanism with YRCTI, further deepen the university-enterprise cooperation, and explore an innovative industry-university-research collaboration model.

YRCTI places great emphasis on educational exchanges and cooperation with Central Asia and has conducted multiple professional training programs for teachers and the “Exploring Central Plains, Experiencing the Yellow River” cross-cultural exchange activities for universities in Central Asia. In 2024, YRCTI successfully established the “Dahe Workshop” and “Chinese Language Workshop” with local universities and Chinese-funded enterprises in Central Asia, aiming to promote the cultivation of international technical and skilled talents. This visit is of great significance in enhancing YRCTI’s international education level, further expanding educational cooperation with Central Asia, and deepening cultural exchanges and mutual learning.
